The ‘First Date’
Every piece begins with a conversation. A casual no-obligation chat, whether it’s over the phone or a coffee in the studio. This is the time to explore ideas, inspirations, and how your new jewellery will fit into your lifestyle. We’ll talk about aesthetics, preferred metals and gems, and, if you’re comfortable, your budget. If you have existing jewellery you'd like to redesign, it is a great time to take a closer look at that too.
2
Design & Gem Hunt
We start sourcing gemstones early on, hunting to find your perfect match, as each one is unique in colour, shape, and size. I personally preview and select only the most vibrant and beautiful stones from trusted dealers who travel the world to find natural gems. With these options in mind, I sketch designs for your piece, turning our conversation into tangible concepts.

Concept Presentation
You’ll receive two or three design ideas along with carefully chosen gemstone options, if your design requires them, and quotations for each so you’ll understand the pricing the whole way through our design stage. This can be veiwed via email or in person at the studio. If refinements are needed, we’ll tweak and tailor until it’s just right, and then once we are confident in the chosen design it’s time to progress into the workshop and onto the jeweller's bench.

Handcrafting
Once the design is confirmed, the making begins. I supply and work with responsibly sourced metals from a New Zealand-based refinery (new gold, platinum, or palladium), who is proudly a part of the Responsible Jewellery Council, or melt down and recycle your existing jewellery. Every piece is forged using centuries-old goldsmithing techniques and tools – hammer, file, and fire. When the mount is complete my expert gem setters carefully place each stone, and independent valuers provide an official valuation for insurance purposes too.

The Reveal
And the big moment has arrived! The final piece, perfectly finished, beautifully packaged and ready to be adored.
Whether it is in the studio, via courier or personally delivered to your door, from my hands to yours, that first glance is pure joy. Your treasure, forever.
