Here are some ideas that will keep your jewellery looking it’s best:
The evening routine
Place those jewels somewhere safe before bed. Not sleeping in your jewellery will help it maintain it’s gorgeous shape.
The morning routine
We all have one. Maybe it is a ritual of serums and lotions, a touch of make up and a spritz of perfume, or a little bit of hairspray to make sure your do stays fab all day – the residue can leave your jewels feeling less than ready for your next set of adventures, so add them to your outfit last. They will thank you for it!
Handle with love
Remove your rings, particularly your stone set ones, before you hit the gym, start gardening or joining your team on the sports field – anything that could lead to heavy contact. Doing this will protect them from harsh wear and tear and lower this risk of damage.
Safe storage
When you are not dazzling everyone with your stunning ring or precious pendant store them separately. This helps to avoid the pieces scratching each other, keeping them looking fresh and sensational. Also – do chains up at the catch, this saves so many tangles!
Water babies – this one is for you!
Did you know that chlorine is not our friend when it comes to gold? Over time it can eat away at the alloys in our precious metals, making it brittle and weak. If you adore your jewellery, take it off before swimming, showering or soaking in the spa.
Gentle cleaning
Because even when we do all the right things we will sometimes feel like a sparkle up! Clean your jewellery with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm, soapy water (please do not use hot water). This will bring the sparkle and life back to your precious gems. Check with your jeweller first to ensure this is the right at home treatment for your pieces.
The annual health check – but make it fun!
Pop out to the studio for a coffee and a catch up. While you relax, I will treat your jewellery to a professional polish, clean and inspection to make sure your CPGS pieces are in optimal condition and continue to bring you all the joy, smiles and compliments you deserve!
